(!), Mozart was poking fun at Village Musicians,
who sometimes (unintentionally) played a

Hungry Five Quintets (2 Clars, Trpt, Trmbn, Tuba)
Many American musicians were first introduced
to German "oompah" music through
the Hungry Five march-size collection from
an American publisher. For years no arrangements
for this combination were issued by German
publishers. Recently, one of Germany's leading
music publishers has come out with new arrangements
by the accomplished composer/arranger Herbert
Ferstl of well-known tunes in concert-size
format for the Hungry Five combination.
